Yesterday was national Slurpee day (7/11/11) and while it’s always great to get a free refreshing beverage on a hot summer day, the real buzz in LA yesterday was around Dada Life as they made their way up from San Diego to give the crowed at Playhouse a night of amazing music, champagne, and a whole bunch of bananas.
By the time I hit the dance floor around 11:45, the club was already at capacity. Mr. White was on the decks and the crowed was getting anxious as Dada Life’s infamous plastic bananas swung over head to the pulse of the beat. When the dj duo finally hit the stage everybody went nuts and from then on, it was game on. Fog blower cannons, giant bottles of champagne and bananas (both real and fake) were blasted into the crowed from the stage and all that people could do was dance harder and cheer louder. For a Monday night, this party was epic and I know we throw that word around here a lot, but I seriously feel like history is being made every time I step out to one of these shows. I had a blast rocking on stage with these guys and I suggest that you catch them live as soon as you can.
