At only 23 years old, this Canadian-born artist, AKA Troy Beetles, has already drawn in huge amounts of attention and gained the praise of a number of highly influential DJs, including the likes of Bassnectar, DJ Craze, Rusko, and Skream. With only three years of producing under his belt, he’s already managed to make his way up into the leading group of today’s electronic acts and gain a notable following– all of which is proven by the simple fact that he’s released several singles that have gone on to reach #1 on Beatport.
Datsik has an undeniably unique sound, which he has claimed is inspired by artists like Wu-Tang Clan, RZA, and Method Man. He continues to churn out tracks that are both futuristic, rhythmic, and heavy hitting, with those big floor-stomping beats. At such a young age, it’s pretty obvious that this guy is only getting started– it seems that we can all expect to hear some refreshingly different dubstep sounds from Datsik in the coming years.
