So after a couple of thousand people decided not to leave the Hollywood and Highland area after a Kaskade block party performance was canceled, I found myself running for my life as the good old LAPD opened fire on the crowed which inluded a bunch of industry professionals just looking to get into “The EDC Experience” premiere. It was a mess and after narrowly escaping some serious injury, I decided to just chill out at home until the after party @ Supperclub where Kaskade was supposed to be spinning. I was a little skeptical after the madness that had gone down just a few hours before the party but it’s Kaskade so you know I’m going to be there no matter what.
The club looked amazing and surprisingly, we got through the line pretty quick. Official EDC dancers were were all over the place and were dressed in some insane costumes. Our buddy DJ Cobra took the decks first and got the crowed hyped as the room quickly filled up. Jason Bentley (KCRW) then took the stage and kept the party moving until Kaskade finally came out just after midnight which is when the party really began.
Over all it was a solid night and the party more than made up for the stupidity that was the movie premiere. I’d have to say that the event ended on a perfect note when I ate a danger dog on the way home. You can never go wrong with bacon wrapped hot dogs!
If you weren’t able to get in the party (which was just about everybody), you can catch Kaskade and all the rest of the amazing acts on the Identity Festival Tour this summer.
