Jessie and the Toys Boys are definitely staying busy on the tour front. After opening for Britney Spears on her Femme Fatale tour, they’re hopping on board the first ever Identity Festival tour! If I were you, I’d go ahead and get your tickets while they last.
This electro-pop band, AKA Jessie Malakouti and her four mannequin men, have certainly brought something new to the music table. She’s a girl who’s always blazed her own trail– when she was 16 she formed her own rock band (Shut Up Stella), left home, and started performing in little clubs up and down the Sunset Strip. But when the band wanted to go take their music in a more angst driven direction, Jessie parted ways and started making her own creative decisions, which eventually led her to upbeat electro songs and a group of toy boys.
This is one girl who clearly knows what she wants, and is willing to take the risks and push whatever boundaries it takes to get there. She’s got a killer voice and a unique sound that just calls for dancing. Just a couple months ago, she released an EP titled ‘Show Me Your Tan Lines’, featuring her hit single, ‘Push It’ (which at one point, hit the #7 spot on Billboard Dance chart).
