Avalon Hollywood was the place to be last weekend as Size Matters duo Max Vangeli and AN21 brought their “People of the Night” tour to the neighborhood’s most popular dance music venue. With a slew of successful remixes, a new BBC Radio1 Essential Mix, and an upcoming album release, Max and AN21 are already well on their way to making a name for themselves in the electronic world. The two made their local debut to a sold-out 21+ crowd with fellow label-mate Sebjak, and to say they ”killed it” would be an understatement – our ears are still ringing!
Saturday’s set at Avaland demonstrated what Max, AN21, and the rest of the Size Matters crew are all about – big parties and even bigger productions. The dance floor and VIP areas were packed even by Avalon’s standards, and confetti and LED beach balls were flying all over the crowd (and bouncing off the DJs). Throughout the course of the night, Max and AN21 played a steady stream of bangers off the Size label, and crowd favorites like Dirty South and Thomas Gold‘s “Alive,” Alesso‘s upcoming single, “Raise Your Head,” and Deniz Koyu and Johan Wedel’s remix of “Dangerous” (see below for video!). They also introduced some of their new material, including “Fresh Start” and “Whisper (ft. Example).” One of the more memorable moments came when they stopped the music to introduce “People of the Night,” a recent collaboration with Tiesto off their forthcoming album; it’s a huge track that everyone in the room instantly fell in love with.
The “People of the Night” tour is making a few more stops around the US in the coming weeks. If you have an opportunity to watch these guys perform together, you should take advantage of it. They’ve got definite chemistry when they’re up in the DJ booth, and so much likability and charisma from a crowd’s perspective. Expect even bigger things to come from AN21 and Max Vangeli once their debut album drops.
