Okay okay so Deadmau5 might be that guy you hate to love and love to hate. Well, quite frankly I don’t care because the simple fact is, the guy is a super talented artist/producer, a musical magician and an icon, and I want to take a minute to recognize The Continued Rise of the Mau5 in 2011—not only has he had a killer year for himself while pushing musical and artistic boundaries, but, whether it is his intention or not, he is doing a great thing by purveying the popularity of EDM (which is meant to be shared guys!) and demolishing dancefloors around the world.

So he has a lot of haters (I’m pretty sure thats how many people measure success!). Big deal. It’s undeniable that he still has plenty of lovers; he sold out 4 shows in a row at The Palladium in LA and 5 shows in at the Roseland Ballroom in NY this year. Who does that?? And did you not see that Nokia Lumia 800 event (aka free inf***ingsane light show) in London this past November? Who really knows if he’s a nice guy or not and who really cares? Deadmau5 brings people together and creates some of the best spectacles (and memories!) for thousands and thousands of people!

Oh and–duh–forgot to mention that he puts out amazing music too! OK so 4×4 wasn’t his best work but Animal Rights with Wolfgang Gartner is literally one of my fave jams of all time and I am not afraid to say it!!!

(*btw this isn’t something I’m particularly proud of, but I sh** you not I was once asked to leave a bar completely sober because Animal Rights came on and apparently i went a little too nuts—pshhh, whatever—but how could you NOT?!)

So anyways, now we have his residency to look forward to at XS in Vegas, which starts on January 2nd (which was officially declared “Deadmau5 Day” by the City of Las Vegas for a reason!). Epic city + Epic venue + Epic artist + Epic music + Epic visuals….well, you get the picture—I don’t see how the experience could = anything short of a memorable and magical time for anyone and everyone there!

So if you’re as big of a Mau5 fan as I am (haters, get over it, you’re invited too!) join me in Vegas on Monday or one of his following dates (’cause I know I’ll end up going more than once!) and lets live what will probably be one of your Favorite EDM Moments of 2012!
