From the Olympics to the Grammys Tiesto has earned his reputation as one of the best DJs in the world. He is truly a frontrunner of the electronic dance music scene and has played a huge role in the growing popularity of the genre. This brings me to my favorite EDM moment of 2011…

Seeing Tiesto at the Hard Rock Las Vegas for Halloween was not just my favorite EDM moment of 2011, it just might be my favorite moment of 2011 period…except maybe getting a job at Wantickets! Although Tiesto did not have the most epic stage I’ve ever seen, with music as epic as his he doesn’t need to have a ridiculous stage to put on a top-notch show.

Tiesto has DJ-ed in front of millions of people in his lifetime and he really knows how to work a crowd. Seeing him live, I never felt like there was any downtime, I never stopped dancing and you couldn’t wipe the smile off my face if you tried. A lot of times at shows there comes a point where I’m like “Alright, this is a good time to go get a new drink…” But literally I never wanted to take a breather, it was just too awesome to walk away from…even for just a few minutes.

I’ve been to enough shows over the years to know the elite class of DJs from the mediocre and the amateur. Even after seeing artists like Boys Noize, Pretty Lights, Wolfgang Gartner, Bassnectar, Duck Sauce and plenty more, Tiesto is up in highest rank and very few can touch him up there…

In 2012 I hope to see Tiesto in a festival setting, I’d like to see him perform back to back with a few other artists just to get a new perspective on his live sets. And I can’t wait to continue the party on into 2012!!
