East coast EDM fans have yet another reason to celebrate and be merry later on this year: roughly one month after New York’s Electric Zoo, Georgia will be hosting its own three-day EDM extravaganza, dubbed the Counterpoint Festival, on September 27-29. Counterpoint may not sound familiar to you yet, only because 2012 is its first year of existence, but the preliminary info released so far about the event already has us wanting to #BeThere. Taking advantage of Atlanta’s diverse creative arts culture, the CounterPoint Music Festival [will bring] Atlanta’s urban vibe and dynamic creative culture to the Festival grounds. The 8,000 acres of rolling pastures, lakes and woodlands along a 12-mile stretch of Chatahoochee River-front property will play host to multiple stages, art installations and a variety of other exciting activities.
In addition, the lineup looks pretty meaty — Bassnectar, Skrillex, Pretty Lights, Avicii, and Steve Angello are set to headline, while supporting acts include Laidback Luke, Alesso, Feed Me, R3hab, and Zeds Dead. BOMB! And if you’re down with the hip hop, you can also catch Wale, Big Boi, and Atmosphere performing over the weekend, too.
