Check out this Wantickets exclusive interview with up-and-coming Dutch electro trio Nobody Beats the Drum! They’ve just recently landed on the US scene and have already rocked stages at SXSW, Webster Hall NYC and Ultra Music Festival in Miami. NBTD have just set out on an 8-week North American tour which includes a date at Dim Mak Studios tomorrow! For tickets click here.
What Software/Hardware do you prefer or recommend to new DJ/Producers?
We use Ableton on stage, that’s one of a kind. And nobody is paying me to say that. In the studio we use Logic, we’ve been working with that for more than 10 years and love it. But you can make anything with any program, if you’re creative. I know some pretty awesome producers who use fruityloops or reason.
Favorite live show moment in the last 6 months?
We’re just getting started here in the US and everything has been a trip the last view months, SXSW was a blast. Ultra was sick and we just played our first show with our big ass 333″ visual installation in Philadelphia, which we will bring with us to LA.
If you could work with one artist who would it be?
Beastie Boys. We were so sad when we heard about MCA. They’ve had a major influence on us.
What’s something people might not know about you?
Rogier has 4 prostetic teeth, jori has 4 birds at home and sjam has a strict “4C-diet” (chicken, crunchy shit, cheese, chocolate)
Hope you guys enjoyed getting to know Nobody Beats the Drum. Definitely be on the lookout for these guys and don’t forget, you can catch them at Dim Mak Studios in Hollywood tomorrow night or at one of their tour dates this summer (listed below).
