It’s pretty much safe to say EDM has exploded in America, wouldn’t you agree? With festivals such as Electric Daisy Carnival, Coachella, Ultra and so many more popping up in major cities all across the US dance music has taken over the music scene. Just a few years ago if you mentioned the name Tiesto or Afrojack to a stranger there was probably a good chance they would have no idea who you were talking about, but things have drastically changed. DJs are selling out venues across the globe and performing at festivals that bring in over 100,000 fans easily. This is all new to America, but it has been going on for years in other parts of the world.
A majority of the DJs that we have grown to love and spend our hard earned money on began their career thousands of miles away. The Netherlands is the hometown of some of the biggest names in EDM, sure it’s a small country but when it comes to music the Netherlands dominates the scene. The Dutch Influence is a documentary that highlights the success of Dutch DJs and the growth of dance music over the last 20 years. In the trailer below you can see Armin Van Buuren, Tiesto, Afrojack, Laidback Luke, Hardwell + so many more of the most respected Dutch DJs performing all around the world and sharing their memorable experiences. I have so many unforgettable memories thank to these DJs and I can’t help but feel so proud of what these DJs have accomplished.
