On November 1, Techno legends Richie Hawtin and Loco Dice are bringing their new CNTRL tour to Washington DC.
The CNTRL tour is a joint project between Hawtin and Loco Dice, along with DJ Tech Tools founder Ean Golden, that focuses on the advancements in music technology and how they can be used in new and dynamic live performances. According to the tour’s press release, CNTRL is focused on ”engaging young North American fans of EDM and showing them the roots of the music, the history of a global movement and demonstrating what the future of music technology and performance has the power to become.”
This tour is more than just parties however, as during the afternoon at a University near each tour stop, there will be a seminar series called CURRICULM in which Hawtin, Loco Dice, Golden, and the rotating guest DJs and special guest speakers will offer lectures and Q&A sessions on the importance of and different ways music technology is used.
The Washington DC stop at Echostage features CURRICULM at nearby American University and features special guest DJ Paco Osuna.
