Relatively new to the EDM scene, Jeff Montalvo, better known as Seven Lions, made quite the entrance! While his breakout track was his remix of Above & Beyond’s “You Got To Go,” Montalvo has showed no signs of slowing down, with the release of his EP Polarized and remixes of Tritonal and Velvetine tracks. Now he comes to us with his newest four-track Days To Come EP. The vibe of the EP is a romantic dubstep experience, showcasing the infusion of hard and soft sounds that put Seven Lions on the map. The first single is the title track, “Days To Come,” and features the beautiful vocals of Fiona. Her lyrics, “my eyes wide open underneath the sun” gives us that feeling of complete relaxation, just in time for the drop. The bass line is powerful and full of that electro synth. But don’t get too relaxed, Montalvo kicks up the tempo with the second track “The Truth.” This dubstep track has a harder bass line than the previous track, but also utilizes a melodic beat to add a unique element. The next track “Fracturals” also hits us with a more powerful bass line, and incorporates an electro sound. The progressive buildup of the track, sets the stage for an epic drop. This track might easily be one of our favorites! The final track “She Was” features Birds of Paradise. This track is definitely a wild card incorporating a new vibe to the EP. The free-spirit energy of this track takes us on a wild journey with Seven Lions at the helm. “She Was” enlivens the EP and gives us a wide range of the production skills that Montalvo has to offer us. Days To Come is full of ethereal vocals and sick bass lines that do not disappoint! After listening to this EP, it will be easy to understand why the days to come for Seven Lions will be bright.
