What do you do when you’re a famous fashion designer and need awesome runway music for your show in Paris Fashion Week? You call up Daft Punk and get them to create something for you, which is exactly what Saint Laurent did for his Spring/Summer 2013 show. It’s been over seven years since masked electronic wizards, Daft Punk have released any album. While they are supposedly in the studio, working on their fourth LP, when asked to create a soundtrack to famed fashion house, Saint Laurent, they gladly obliged and created a fifteen minute mix using music by late blues artist Junior Kimbrough. It’s a VERY different sound for Daft Punk — especially if your knowledge of them is of their hits ”Technologic”, “Around the World” and of course, “One More Time.” Although the show occurred a few weeks ago, the mix has finally made its way onto the Internet for listening outside the realm of the fashion elite. Could this mean that the duo will be releasing a new track soon?
