Beatport hosted a contest for up-and-coming producers to test their remixing chops on the Sander van Doorn single, “Chasin’.” Los Angeles-based duo, Charity Strike were selected as the winners, and their remix was released on Doorn Records, Monday, October 29. Mike Lisanti and Philip Scully, who were each pursuing individual music careers until April of this year, put a dubstep spin on the track, and create a truly unique song. This single alternates between a darker sound, chockfull of deep bass, and an uplifting melodic dance beat. The track also samples from the Greased-Up Deaf Guy on the show, Family Guy. This single definitely shows off the production skills of Charity Strike, we can’t wait to hear more from them. Lisanti and Scully will be releasing their single, “Battle Cry” on November 6.
