UK newspaper, The Sun broke the news yesterday that Ellie Goulding and dubstep music producer, Skrillex have parted ways after almost a year of dating. Sources close to the singer/songwriter, confirmed the split and attributed it to the artists’ busy schedules. Another contributing factor is the distance between Goulding and Skrillex, aka Sonny Moore; Goulding was based in the UK, while Moore was living in Los Angeles. Goulding recently expressed wanting to do an entire album with Moore; yet, no official announcement of this project has been released. The duo have a number of collaborations that have still not seen the light of day; however, they did work together on Skrillex’s single, “Summit,” which was included on his 2011 Bangarang EP. Check out the track below.
For now, Goulding is currently promoting the release of her second album Halcyon, that she admits has a darker feel to it, having been inspired by her split with DJ Greg James. Meanwhile, Skrillex has his upcoming New Year’s Eve Weekend performance set for December 30 at Surrender Nightclub in Vegas. Tickets can be purchased here.
