Despite the impending cold front that is expected to hit LA, David La Melza of Tropicool dropped his Summer-inspired mixtape, Dopamine Dreams, today. The mix blends island sounds, steel drum samples and funky beats that maintain the disco vibe his music is known for. While the full track list won’t be released until Friday, three of the recognizable tracks from the mix are Aeroplane’s remix of Kimbra’s single “Two Way Street,” “You Make Me Feel Good” by Satin Jackets, and Goldroom’s remix of Atlas Genius’ “Back Seat”. You can even hear a tropical remix of Janet Jackson’s 2001 single, “All For You.” La Melza describes the hour-long mix as “funky feel-good tunes for bumping uglies, time traveling, or beach daze with cold cocktails.” This mixtape is definitely worth the listen, especially if you’re missing the good old days of Summer.
