Mackenzie Johnson, who goes by the name of DJ MAKJ, has been cultivating his DJ-ing and production skills since he was 15 years old. However, music isn’t his only passion, a onetime international race car driver, Johnson traveled to China to pursue his love of racing, when he acquired his first set of Technics 1200. It was at this time he began studying the unique sounds of the culture, which he incorporated into his music upon his return to the United States. DJ MAKJ began creating hit bootlegs and remixes of tracks from some of the biggest artists in EDM. His mixes quickly earned acclaim from fellow DJs, including Laidback Luke, Hardwell, Chuckie, Steve Aoki, R3hab, Tiesto, Swanky Tunes, Steve Angello, and Deniz Koyu. At age 22, Johnson has already played at some of the premiere nightclubs across the United States. You can hear DJ MAKJ on his weekly “Electric Sound Stage” station on iHeartRadio.
