Recap: 12th Planet @ Avalon – 2/29

Wednesday night I checked out the 12th Planet show at Avalon and had the time of my life. I got there early enough to hear part of Kastle‘s set, as well as Flinch. Both were fun, although Kastle was a little slower and heavier on the dub. Flinch was a great prequel to 12th Planet – he got the crowd jumping by playing songs like the Cutline remix of Ayah Marar‘s “Mind Controller”. By the time Flinch was finished, everyone was going crazy for 12th Planet.

12th Planet opened with a track he made with Flinch, titled “The End Is Near pt. 1″, aptly sharing the same name as the current tour both artists are on. He played crowd favorites like Rusko‘s “Everyday” and Nero‘s “Crush On You”. Labeled as the artist who introduced America to dubstep, 12th Planet knows how to throw down and played one of his filthiest sets yet.

Recap: Nicky Romero @ Greystone Manor 2/28

Last night a few members of the Wantickets team were lucky enough to catch Nicky Romero play at Greystone Manor. The crowd started getting thick around 11:30 and everyone was amped to see Nicky spin. He was feeding off the energy of the crowd and you could tell he was extremely excited – who wouldn’t be? There were people celebrating birthdays, promotions and the fact that it was a Tuesday night. Those of us who went were able to jump into the VIP area right next to the DJ booth. Our prime location led to some awesome pictures and videos.

Nicky played fan favorites such as Alesso and Sebastian Ingrosso‘s “Calling”, “Raise Your Head”, as well as his own “ID” mix done with Avicii. He also dropped his new remix with David Guetta and Sia called “Wild One Two”. The club was going crazy with lights, smokeshows and lingerie-clad women hanging from the ceiling. Nicky provided the perfect soundtrack for a wild night out and we can’t wait to see him again!

Recap: Nadia Ali @ The Yost Theater – 1/20

Another night, another huge name at The Yost Theater. This past Friday brought Nadia Ali, one of the most well-known voices in dance music to the stage and all in attendance were treated to a night of amazing sounds, courtesy of the world-class vocalist. For those who don’t know, Nadia is the voice behind hits like “Pressure”, “Rapture”, “Believe It” and many more. Check out our slide show below if you missed it!
