Eric Prydz Previews Two New Cirez D Tracks

Eric Prydz is a man of many faces. First off there’s Eric Prydz, the Swedish producer and DJ who has been hard at work in the industry since 1994 when he played in a local band with aspirations to become the next Kraftwerk. But that aim almost seems modest in retrospect when looking at the direction his career has taken now. From working with fellow Swedes Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso on the early workings of what later became the international supergroup Swedish House Mafia, to a humble track made simply as a bootleg for friends that became one of his most well known tracks ‘Call on Me’, Eric Prydz rise is nothing but an accident. But that’s not all there is to the man, his production alter egos such as Pryda and Cirez D allowed him to further delve into different sounds with deeper productions for a range of styles released via his personal labels Pryda, Pryda Friends, and Mouseville Records, allowing him to branch out into progressive house sounds and the deeper techno genres as well.

This week we’ve got two brand new tracks from Eric’s ‘Cirez D’ moniker, and that means its time for Techno. “Thunderstruck” displays a deep, churning intensity that digs deep with a driving beat while a siren rises and falls throughout the build as a foreboding of the coming storm as it drops back down into the beat.

“Drums in the Deep” couldn’t be named any more aptly, with the deep, tribal sound of drums that drive the no-nonsense track while a dark, eerie vocal echoes above.

Ok this is a bootleg we’ve been waiting for for a long time… It’s Gabriel & Dresden‘s silly but amazing mashup of Pryda’s epic “Allein” and the 80s classic from The Human League “Don’t You Want Me Baby.” It originated at Electric Zoo in New York where it set the crowd off, and for good reason… it’s catchy and you don’t even have to be an electronic music fan to totally lose it when the nostalgic chorus kicks in. It’s absolutely genius and a total show-stopper. So grab it for free and add it to those party sets for a total crowd-pleaser! I think it’s time for an 80s-themed EDM dance party… Robbie Rivera’s “Forever Young” can come too

Pryda – Bergen / Recomondos

Eric Prydz is showing no signs of slowing down now that he’s on a roll. 2012 has been a huge year for him, celebrating the release of the long-anticipated artist album Pryda, headlining the extensive ID Festival tour and bringing his sound to the US for the first time in years, then releasing “Everyday”, which has already captured the hearts of listeners everywhere.

The PRY023 EP features two brand new tracks, “Bergen” and “Recomondos”, both solidifying Pryda’s unstoppable force as a master of the progressive house sound. But his incredible success hasn’t gotten to his head, as these tracks don’t ever try to hard to give a ”drop’ or emulate the success of his larger hits under his namesake, these are true Pryda gold that carry you through an epic soundscape of soaring melodies and euphoric synth leads.

Kaskade, Inpetto & LNA vs. Pryda – How Long Allein (Kaskade FON Mashup)

Kaskade‘s Music Mondays are back again with another one of everyone’s favorite tracks from his epic Freaks of Nature tour. This was a staple moment in many of the sets, mashing up Pryda’s huge track “Allein” with one of the most anticipated tracks from his Fire & Ice album, “How Long”, which brought together Ryan Raddon’s other band, Late Night Alumni and collaborator Inpetto.

If you caught any of the Freaks of Nature stops, you’ll be familiar with this, and if you didn’t, you’ll fall in love. Much like all of Kaskade’s mashups, these two tracks work together so well, after hearing them together, it’s hard to not expect it to be that way every other time you hear it (I still can’t hear Tommy Trash’s “Cascade” without “Empty Streets”… which we’re still waiting for an official release of, Kaskade).

Eric Prydz Presents PRYDA – Out Now

The long-awaited and highly anticipated Eric Prydz album is out today on iTunes (UK). Eric Prydz presents PRYDA is a three-disk collection featuring all-new material by the Swedish producer. Prydz’ melodies are nothing short of spellbinding, and the album definitely proves that with tracks like “Shadows,” “Allein,” “Sunburst,” and “SW4.” Given that we’ve had such limited access to his music here in the US, this debut is made even more exciting by the fact that Prydz will return to America this summer on his first-ever US tour (as a part of ID Fest). With such a massive catalog of new material to introduce, we’re sure the tour will be absolutely legendary.
